No, it is not X rated. Sorry to get your... umm... hopes up?
I figured out the burning stinging tongue thing. I guess it helps if you actually read the tons of paperwork they give you, and then cross reference to the internet.
Dry mouth, except it just seems to be dry tongue, only the right half. That is why it feels better when I use the drool inducing fluoride trays. Unfortunately, this isn't supposed to be happening until after I'm into radiation. Losing one salivary gland was supposed to be okay.
Currently I'm trying the recommended home remedy of rinsing your mouth frequently with baking soda and water. More with the mouth rinsing. Swish and spit is becoming my own personal sound effect. So far it has only helped a little, but I only started trying it last night.
But I want it to stop annoying me now, now, NOW!
On the home front, we are attempting to beat the kitchen into submission. When I say we, I really mean Kelly. I have laundry starting to stalk me. Karina has Bat Mitzvah pictures today and we need to find shoes to match the dress while we have a three year old free opportunity. And volleyball knee pads. And get the official swim team suit. And... 10 or 20 other things. Just like the rest of you.
Speaking of needs to do, if any of you readers in LV have a spare moment today, Anji from Team Lisbon desperately needs help packing and loading for her big move. Today. Let me know and I'll put you in touch.
WARNING...TMI...
Apparently the plastic surgeon filed an appeal with the insurance company (for the denied reduction I'm not healthy enough to have right now anyway). Again they denied it stating that I would have to have a minimum of 600 grams per breast removed to qualify. Thank you internet, I now know that is 1.32 pounds per breast. Sounds fine to me, but I have no idea what Dr. Movassaghi put in his appeal. I have added to my own appeal letter stating this sounds fine to me. Based on the CC at the bottom of the insurance company's letter, I'm assuming they did not take into consideration the letters from Dr. Ashley and Dr. Duke (cardiologist and cardiac surgeon). If they do eventually approve it, I'll have to ask what the expiration date on the approval is. The journey continues.
And that's the way it is, June 22, 2008.
Love,
Kiara
