Kiara got out of bed this evening and sat in a chair to eat her dinner. Note to Kevin Freels: It was not Beef Stroganoff. She had Cream of Chicken Soup, Apple Juice, and a Vanilla Milkshake. (Are you happy Barbara?) She sat up for at least 1/2 hour. Tomorrow they will try to get her ambulatory, which should consist of a walk down the hall.
We've discovered that Darvocet is Kiara's painkiller of choice. Just 1 pill keeps the pain away, lets her sleep, and doesn't make her vomit. To quote Huey Lewis: I want a new drug. One that won't make me sick.
For those wondering, yes I'm a little punchy myself.
Kiara called the house tonight to speak to Karina. Tara and I will bring both of the girls to the hospital tomorrow night. We haven't received an updated estimate of how long Kiara will be in.

I'm relieved to hear that Kiara's found some pain meds that work. Hopefully you can get a good night's sleep tonight, Kelly. Hang in there!
