Tardy post

I guess I didn't get right back to you, did I? Everything is good. Still swollen and a bit bruised, but good. The doctor was very happy and said everything was healing well. I see him again in two weeks. The stitches are all dissolvable, so there is just the poky remnants of them shedding. How attractive. They all have a purple hue to them from all the marker lines. I guess it really was a cut on the dotted line job.

My mom is leaving this week. She has been a huge help. Of course the dishwasher conked out the first day she was here, making extra work for her. I don't think the washer and dryer have stopped running since she arrived. I think it takes her mind off the weather and being homesick. She doesn't enjoy the 'gloomy' spring in Eugene. It doesn't faze me, although when the sun does come out, I have the desert instinct to lay on a rock and soak it up like a lizard.

Karina got her first choice, International High School (IB). She is very excited-- the letter came yesterday. I'm still trying to figure out how she could be starting high school this fall. And I'm supposed to be 'gifted.'

Karissa has recovered and just has a lingering cough. She is still trying to figure out where she will put four more teeth in her mouth. I think she'll just start doubling up. Better start saving for the braces now.

I love the snow, but it would be just fine if Reno decided to warm up a little for the Eta Omicron reunion. I don't care much for flying in the snow. I don't want to get stuck in Sea/Tac or SF.

Just in case you were wondering, I've only violated the no lifting rule a few times (when there were no witnesses). I have obeyed the no exercising, even though my neck is killing me from not doing physical therapy. I get to go back to PT on the 30th. Hooray! Strange to look forward to something that hurts.

I'll be happily burning these two bras in four more weeks. Ugh! Who wants to go shopping with me!?

Love,
Kiara

If only it weren't illegal to send flame-making materials through the mail to you, I'd contribute to the flames. And shopping!
