Here we are at Monday. Last week was a long, but healing week. I actually felt pretty good going into today. My chief complaint is lack of sleep. How can that be, you may ask, when I lie around all day and night. What follows is yucky, so feel free to skip.
At this point in the game, what used to be saliva is just yellow, sticky, glue like substance. When I lie down, it will eventually gag me, causing me to jump up to spit it our, rinse my mouth, gargle, etc. Once or twice not too bad, but 10 or more times a night is not too restful. It bothers me during the day, too, but it isn't quite as noticeable.
That was until I had to lay flat on my back under the machine today. Terror. Gross. You can feel the stuff gurgling in your throat. How long can I last? I did have to bang on the table and have them pull my mask off once so I could spit. Ewwww. Just yucky, yucky, yucky.
Another lecture on how I should be eating more. That was followed up with the always cheerful, "It's going to get worse before it gets better." Nice.
I barely made it home in time to throw up in the privacy of my own bathroom. So much for that half a Boost. After a nap, chicken soup went the same way. And the three sips of water. I hate being nauseous. The thought of eating or drinking is pretty terrifying, although I did get down another compazine, which should help. It is pain patch night, too.
Blood Pressure: 90 over 62. Heart Rate 120+ Weight: steady (I wore jeans for my weigh in)
Four days, four days, four days, four days.
I think Karissa may have given me creeping crud as she is whiny and complaining about her stomach. Great. I have a low grade fever, too. Never in my life have I wanted a flat seven up more in my life. Too bad it just tastes like club soda.
I hope you are all doing better than me this week.
Good luck on your surgery, IAN!!!
Love,
Kiara
