Good Morning everyone!
Today is a better day. Every day is a little better. Kelly is at the airport for the changing of the guard. (Trading Mary and Sarah for his mom). I think my illnesses are single handedly keeping the Eugene/Las Vegas Allegiant Air route in business. That, and Karina's Bat Mitzvah.
Thanks so much for all the great food ideas! I totally forgot about cottage cheese. And, I actually like it. Poor Angie made pasta salad for me yesterday. With olives. And tomatoes. And cold and mixed together. Everyone else thought it was fabulous. I know, I'm a pain in the butt.
All and all, the eating is getting better. Small bites, but most things seem to work. I did lose another pound since yesterday. I am almost down to what I weighed in the eighth grade. Guess it is a good thing I was fat then, too! See, being overweight does come in handy sometimes.
I told Karina about the radiation and she is fairly freaked. I am actually feeling better about it. I had been beating myself up about the not catching it earlier, but who knows how long it has been in my nodes. If we had just taken the tumor sooner and not done the nodes, who knows how much it could have spread. And what would I do without another lovely scar to talk about? Mary saw the Henna tattoo lady at the Saturday Market. She has recommended this for scar coverage.
I'm trying to get the rest of the garden planted. I'm assuming I'll have more mobility in my neck when the staples come out, which will help a lot. Not a great time to sneak up behind me, I've got to say. And washing your hair without being able to put your head back is crap. I have a small new found sympathy for my ex-husband (due to a spinal rod, he could never move his neck back).
What else does anyone want to know? Do you want to see another picture, repleat with bruising? Or shall be we start a book discussion group? Has anyone read the Thursday Next books? I just finished the second one in the hospital. Weird, weird, weird. Several people suggested the Twillight series. Any others?
Please keep posting comments or sending emails. It keeps me sitting down and not obsessing about all the other things I could/should be doing. Not that I am anal retentive. With a capital A. Or a control freak. Maybe just a little...
Love,
Kiara

OK, I need help. Nicholas was at a Boy Scout Troop Meeting last week and his shorts were so short that one of the boys made a comment. His waist is 21 inches and all of the shorts in his drawer fit him, including the two pair of size 4/5. They were after looking at them a tad short. Needless to say he should be wearing a size 12 slim. While I realize this is out of both our worlds, could you internet search for me. I found some at Old Navy and JC Penny. What I am looking for is elastic waist soft material lounge around the house and be a couch potatoe in. I will not be letting him wear pants at his butt and happily this fashion trend is not his personal style either. Help me! I am on full time car pool duty as Bob's Carl Pool buddy had knee surgery, so I am taking Bob into work everyday until the end of the month and on Wednesday I add his car pool buddy to the route which will add another 40 minutes round trip onto the day on top of the 1 hour each way, I spend behind the wheel with Bob. I can't seem to complain, since you win the hardest life of the year award, but since you are sitting around, hit the internet and point me in the direction of some websites, so my son can give up the size 4/5 shorts in his drawer.
Desperate for help and wishing you were feeling better.
Love
Barbara
Glad you are feeling better. It's too bad that you are so far away though. I have....ready for this....39 research reports from middle school to grade. Then...get this, 50 College Final Exams to grade, they are all identifications and essays. There is something wrong with me that I keep assigning this crap. Anyway, if you were here, you could grade some of them for me! What a great way to keep busy. See...I'm always thinking of you.
Well, say hi to everyone for me and call if you need anything!
