Wednesday at last

Hi, everyone. I'm sorry I've been offline a couple of days. We've had a hectic schedule and I've felt somewhat crappy.

We saw Dr. Dierks on Monday. They took out all the staples, YEAH! He said the incision looked great. I see him again on June 9th to see how the healing is progressing. Then they will set me up with an oncologist in Eugene. He says seven weeks of radiation--that should make the Bat Mitzvah interesting! Also, he said they may decide to mix a little chemo in just because "sometimes it makes the radiation work better"? I don't exactly understand that, but okay...

Yesterday was exciting as my incision decided to start "leaking." Of course, I was stuck in a huge car accident/road construction traffic jam at the time, by myself. Trying to mop up an incision I can't see with fast food napkins and drive in crazy traffic. I was afraid the police working the accident would notice the blood soaked napkin on my neck. I figured that was more explaining than I was really up for. No, I don't know anyone who went somewhere and came home.

Kelly's mom is here helping out. It has been a lifesaver because I don't quite have the stamina a three year old requires at this moment. She hasn't exactly enjoyed the weather and Silas and Shasta are getting on her nerves, but otherwise it is all good.

Thanks for all the great soft food ideas! Also, thanks for the little projects. Now that I'm feeling better, it will give me a reason to sit still. Maybe the bleeding will stop again...

Love,
Kiara
