I'm not sure where to start with all the goodness today!
I woke up swollen to beat the band, which would not be good. Zachary saw me bright and early and concurred that, yes, it is mostly just my face. A tiny bit in my chest, but mostly just cheeks, lips and eyes. Lovely.
He asked tons of questions and checked everything up and down. It seems like an allergic reaction, but why only at night? I have no idea.
He worked his magic and got some of the swelling down. I would let him pound on my back endlessly as it feels so good. The working theory is that the lymph drainage is blocked. It bears out that the more I sit, the more I swell, so sleeping is lots of swelling.
I left looking and feeling better.
We made a couple of quick stops and got home for lunch. Afterwards just enough time to let the housekeeper in and leave for the cardiologist. They took me right in.
No tests, but hey, what is a test going to show them that a dye contrast CT didn't already show him? He looked at arteries and swelling and pulses and liver. And everything looks great. He cannot believe my heart came through all of this with not one sign of right side heart failure or AFib. He is, in fact, astounded. He feels strongly that if my heart could come through all of this this well, then likely they won't ever have to do anything to my heart. However, if I do, all options are available to me. He said it wouldn't be fun. No kidding. Because this has been a laugh a minute up until now.
We came home and a little bit later, Eileen came over. She had good 4j gossip and a big bowl of cherries. We visited and she got some rhubarb and we dug a slew of potatoes. Have I mentioned we are up to our eyeballs in potatoes?
And Mary is coming on Monday. Yes, this Monday! She will be here for my first week of radiation. And Nancy is coming in behind her. And Malia is on behind them at some point. And my MIL.
My husband made Yumm bowls for dinner. He must have read my mind. And he hooked up the blue tooth keyboard to my Dynavox which makes it much more useful. Sadly when he tried to hook up tablet talk, it doesn't do what we thought it would. It won't talk through my phone as we had hoped. Sigh.
Hannah did pick up, piano duty, and carnival. Ed got Karissa to do math homework even though they don't have home work. He must have an immunity to whining. And a great time was had by all!
I saw two episodes of Call the Midwife and only one of them made me cry and snotty. The second one made me so happy. Yay Chummy!
Tomorrow is radiation day 0, basically the dry run to mark up my mask and make sure everything is set to go. I also have Physical Therapy. Karissa is going to play with Meira. No school tomorrow.
So I am very hopeful that the pattern of late doesn't hold with a great day followed by a crappy one, because today was so great, that would make tomorrow really crappy. We, thank goodness for lorazapam on this occasion.
Until tomorrow...

Kiara, Thinking about you today as well. Thanks again for the visit on Tuesday and the great conversation. It was a pleasure and an honor.
