There should be rules

Ebeneezer Scrooge here.  Well, only sort of...  I may sound cranky in this post and for that I apologize.  Five days straight without school after a week off for Thanksgiving is getting to me.

First, let me say that these guidelines do not come from a professional musician.  While I have a degree in music, I didn't pass my pre-recital audition and I never played a jury I didn't feel like I was going to vomit. I was never that great.  In your house, car, bedroom, shower, etc.  belt it out and revel in music. However...

If you are at someone's house attempting to play a well known piece on the piano and someone yells across the house, "KEY SIGNATURE," this phrase should mean something to you.  If it does not, here is the translation:  First time it means, "Stop playing the same wrong note over and over again."  The second time it means, "Stop playing."

Common Christmas carols are typically written in one key.  Let's pick one and stick with it, shall we?

The more you like a particular song, the more likely it is someone will sing it horribly.  More than once.

Why is it everyone knows a song is out of someone's range except the person singing it?

On a non-musical note, why is your child's first choice for someone to play with usually your last choice?

Not taking in enough calories makes you both tired and cranky.  I'm just saying.

On the positive side, the insurance approved my "durable medical equipment purchase" and they are covering the cost in full.  My Dynavox T10 should be here in one to two weeks.

The frozen pipes in the small bathroom thawed by themselves and the toilet refilled itself without incident.

We have concert tickets for tonight and a baby sitter AND an extra fuse in case we have to use four wheel drive to get there.

I am thinking positive thoughts that there will be school tomorrow.  I hope you are, too.

Is this a good night to try some wine in the tube?
If it makes you feel any better, I just got 15 IDKs in a row, when asking my teen questions about schoolwork, on this the first night of missed practice (sung to the tune of From My Window-hopefully in the right key).

I totally read your durable medical equipment brand of Dynavox T10 as "Dinosaur T-Rex". Extreme cold can make people crazy. If only it could make them play in the correct key.

Great news about your Dynavox - and having it paid for - Awesome!!!

Hope it has a telephone hookup - I
miss our "catching up" chats.

Did you finish your granny squares?
If you need help sewing them together, just call or e-mail or blog, and I'll be there with needle in hand.

Miss you and love you all
