It's been a busy day. A never-ending parade of doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists, CNAs, etc. have been coming through Kiara's room. It's a refreshing change from some previous hospitalizations where we had to step into the hallway and scream to get anyone's attention.
I had lessons in clearing the trach tube, cleaning the drains (total of 7), and putting nutrition and medication in the feeding tube. The new normal is taking shape.
Before I hit the sack and surf through 100 channels of hotel cable TV to find that there still isn't anything decent on, let's read some viewer mail:
Cyndi - Yes, you can post a link to this blog. Note that the oldest entries start with Kiara's heart surgery in 2007 and track through a number of medical excitements.
Chad - Kiara doesn't really have an opinion on the Packers' Super Bowl chances. I, on the other hand, think the odds are about the same as me being named their starting quarterback.
Stacy - Pathology on the lymph nodes won't be back until next week. Please keep your fingers crossed.
Mitch - Yes, Tylenol not Lortab. In Kiara's opinion, pain is better than puking.
Love and hugs to all.

Thanks!!!

Lots of love! Thinking of you all the time. Also, I seem to be the TBI clearinghouse for updates so I have been passing on the blog address. You are going to go VIRAL!
Tell Kiara she can't do something - then get out of her way. The girl rocks!!! I am so proud (and lucky) to have her as my daughter-in-law.
Kiara, heal fast and come home even faster. K4 is not complete without you.
Luv ya

It's amazing how good the hospital care is when you get out of Nevada. Shocking right? I think that was the best thing about being in the UofA Hospital. You could actually talk to a doctor or nurse, at any time! Tell Kiara my kids are praying for her, and they ask me every day how she's doing. If you need anything here in Vegas please let me know. Wish I could be there to partake in that wonderful hospital food. Miss you guys!
Lora
Ha! Well, as far as I know, you could be the starting QB. I haven't watched a single game the past two seasons.
Hugs to Kiara and manly handshake to Kelly.
