I just got the first call from Meagan, the surgical nurse.
Kiara went under easily. After not sleeping well for several weeks due to the pain, I'm sure she's enjoying the rest.
They put in the feeding tube (PEG line) first. The surgeons decided to take the flap from her back, so that procedure is up next. All is going as expected and on schedule. Next update should come at 11am.
I don't Facebook (my luddite tendencies) but I just took a spin through Kiara's page. The outpouring of love and support just brings me to tears. Kiara is incredibly lucky to have all of you in her life. And I'm incredibly lucky to have her in mine. Which by some math property whose name I don't remember (A=B, B=C, therefore A=C) makes me doubly lucky as I have all of you as well.
