My Grandmother used to say, "Kiara, when you screw up, you really screw up." I'm glad to see I have passed the ability to always exceed expectations in dubious situations on to my children. Karissa has a cold. And a cough. And throwing up. And fever. And a double ear infection. And she is cutting all four of her four year old molars. Whiney doesn't even come close. She reacts to meds differently than most people, so what knocks most kids out makes her wired. She hasn't really slept in two days despite a motrin/tylenol rotation every three hours, Amoxicillin, and Delsyn cough syrup. All she really wants is to lay on me and feel lousy. Except I'm not as 'cushiony' as I used to be, especially right now. Having her lay on bruised chest and sutures not so fun.
Speaking of sutures, the ones under my arms itch like the devil. I guess that is better than having the ones in less discrete places itch, but still. Tomorrow I see the surgeon again and see where we go from here, so to speak. Everything looks good, although there is still bruising and swelling. I have managed to get most of the sharpie marks off at last, although there are still some purple lines in some very conspicuous places...
No, I don't know what size. I'm thinking the bra with one hook (Thank you, Seal) is a bit too optimistic, but I'm pretty sure to at least be out of five hook land. I'm supposed to wear the post surgical ones for 6 weeks. I have two. I will be more than happy to trash these when those 6 weeks are up.
Yesterday the weather was gorgeous and 60 degrees. Karissa was too sick to go anywhere and I can't do anything here with the don't touch police around. I have so much I want to get done in the garden, but that is probably not wise with this many stitches. Why is it surgeries keep messing up my planting? I didn't bleed to death planting garlic the day I had my angiogram, so perhaps I should be careful not to press my luck.
Allergy season has started, especially in Las Vegas (so I'm told). My sympathies to all of you living on Zyrtec. I don't have allergies. I just skipped right onto heart failure and cancer, none of that sissy allergy stuff for me...
I'll let you know what the doctor says tomorrow.
Love,
Kiara
