So today was the day. Sort of. I had my first experience of being bolted to the table under the radiation machine. How is it? Well, hard plastic table, check. Large plastic mask, check. Thick uncomfortable mouth guard, check. Medieval chains to hold on to to keep my shoulders down, check. I think it really has it all. Even better, the face mask is so molded to my face that when they take it off I have a mesh pattern pressed into my skin. Lovely.
I had my first ever massage today to prep for this. Sadly they were able to undo all her amazing work, which took an hour and a half, in just 20 minutes. I can't imagine how sore I would have been otherwise.
If you have never had a massage, a real massage, I have to highly recommend it. I even stopped talking for most of it.
I've spent a lot of time bouncing emails around regarding the dissolution of the marching band at UNR. There is a big rally tomorrow. I sincerely wish I could be there, but more pressing things, so to speak.
Last minute Bat Mitzvah plans and band crisis are plenty to keep my brain occupied. We'll see if I can fall asleep under the radiation machine.
I almost forgot. The new theory on the weird tongue pain is, TA DA, nerve pain. The idea is that the nerves are waking up and one of them is looking for its other half, which was probably in the part they cut out. Let me tell you, it is pretty ticked about this situation.
I'm sure there will be more tomorrow.
Oh, and the grapes won't be ready until late September, early October. Snow peas, strawberries and lettuce right now.

Mmm. Grapes. There's a farmer's market a couple blocks over tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you as I wander for my lunch hour.
