Cannibals

Sunday was better and Monday morning was good. Monday afternoon not so much.

I did feel kind of ick when I got up this morning. When Kelly asked how I was feeling I told him I feel as if I have been captured by incompetent cannibals. First they tried to saw me in half without success and now they are cooking my head, just vvvveeerrrrryyyyy sssssslllllooooowwwwlllllyyyy......

Karina to swim team, Karissa to play date, pick Karina up from swimming and stop to get her meds. Wait until almost too late and find out the pharmacy is out and can only give me six at this time. Not the week I want to be running out of these.

Rush to radiation. Kelly is not there yet, so Karina had the pleasure of watching me get my shots. Kelly picked her up and took her for her contact fitting while I was irradiated.

Afterwards, I met them at the eye doctor. Contacts in, check. Contacts out, not so check. She can't get them out. 45 minutes, she can't get them out. finally, the lady takes them out and sets us another appointment at 3:30.

Run over and get Karissa from her play time with Evan (thank G-d for Jen) and come home. Attempt to eat some lunch with a mouth that feels as if modifications have been made using a nutmeg grater. Leftover mashed potatoes and a brownie (see Kate, I was paying attention).

Returned two phone calls and tried to sneak in a nap. All too soon it was time for contacts round II.

Fortunately, she got them out on the second try and is good to go.

We got home to a message from AA inviting BOTH girls to go watch her softball game! Yes, yes, yes. Resting was attempted during this time. I was so cold, strange since it is 85 in the house.

Kelly came home and made dinner which I valiantly ate. I was actually collapsed on the couch enjoying Antiques Roadshow (yes, I am that big of a nerd) when the girls came home.

I have a low sighing tolerance, so Karina commandeered the tv for American Gladiators and other crap-- no history detectives for me either, I suspect. Yes, I could refuse, but the whining... oh, the whining.

Book reading, milk drinking and teeth brushing, followed up with the sitting.

I slipped in another compazine at some point in the afternoon and figured out why I was cold. Fever, 101.1. Fun. Add some Tylenol to the drug cocktail in my gut.

So the time for sitting has arrived. Until tomorrow, or whenever I have something remotely interesting to share-- or not, like Goat on Pearls Before Swine... shout out to Dickie the Cockroach...

Love,
Kiara

Glad to see you haven't lost your sense of humor. :-)

Speaking of which, Brett is one funny guy, isn't he? You don't decide to retire and then unretire after telling the team all spring that you are retired and not coming back. He just slipped down a notch for me.

Mmmm, brownies. Glad you were listening! Wish I could think of a recipe for your blueberries, but short of a blueberry smoothie or milkshake I'm coming up short. Try not to let the cannibals get you down... you're so busy I doubt they could catch up anyways. Antiques Roadshow is pretty cool, if you watch the Reno episodes from a few seasons ago, you'll see me and my dad in the background (we were volunteers that day). A little-known fact about me. It was pretty nice of you to give up your PBS for "American Gladiators"!

Antique Roadshow... when there is absolutely, positively nothing else on TV, and you need to veg out, it works. Forensic Files does the trick for me... nothing like veging out to a creepy murder.
