Some interesting stuff...

A lot of people have been telling me about the chef with tongue cancer. I read the article in the New Yorker (thanks, Chris.) His story has a lot in common with mine. Here is a link if you are interested.

Brilliant young chef battles tongue cancer The dining room at Alinea is a rare and special place where dark-suited waiters glide past tables, carrying trays laden with fantastical creations.

Speaking of links, thanks for all of the cancer info, recipies and blog links everyone has been sending. One of the blogs is a young (30) woman who battled Leukemia (thanks, Jana.) I didn't read it all, but one part stuck in my mind. She said she couldn't figure out how she would ever be able to repay all the people who were helping her out (food, cleaning, childcare, rides, etc.). She came to the conclusion that they weren't doing all these things because they were looking to be paid back. They were doing all these things because they loved her. Because she was loved. Thank you to her for pointing this out to me.

Thanks for loving me.

PS-- For those of you who know Ian Flores, the news from SF was the best possible and his surgery will be soon.
