Some more news

The surgeon was in and said the wound looks great. He felt strongly that I would be able to go home tomorrow. Unfortunately, he called a little while later. The pathology report shows that of the 22 lymph nodes they removed, three of them were actively filtering cancer cells. This means radiation. No, this does not seem entirely fair to me, to be sure. I guess there has to be somebody to keep them in lifetime channel movies.
The internist was in because I had a slightly elevated white blood count and a little fever. They are going check a few more things to rule out infection before they give me the nod tomorrow.

I see Dr. Dierks on Monday to get the staples removed and to get the low down on radiation.
Love,
Kiara

Well, damn.

Here you are with a gorgeous Frankenstein neck and chest (really, they put them in so neatly it's practically a picket fence), and they're throwing radiation at you too?

Do they give you the cancer-filtering lymph nodes back so that you can perform a backyard ritual on them? Something nicely symbolic, like you do when you burn an ex-boyfriend's pictures.

Maybe you can be working on that the script for that lifetime movie while your healing. It must be your turn for a little fame or at least fortune. Please keep us posted on your white count and fever. You know me I need someone to worry about.
