Howdy!!!

Hello everybody. It sounds like I will be going home tomorrow. I had my "central line" (IV in my neck ewwww) removed today, so I am just down to two drains, lots of bruises and one big ass scar. Last night was not very restful as it was a sitcom of in and outs all night, with each departing person reminding me to get some rest.
Not for squeamish males... so, first of all Kelly had to go to the bra shop since the hospital doesn't have a cardiac bra even close to fitting me. I was wearing a binder, cutting edge 18th century technology, but it actually worked amazingly well. The nurse on the cardiac floor didn't like it though, so I have this ill fitting nightmare instead. Also, to add insult to injury, my Aunt Flo decided to show up. They apparently don't keep those supplies on the cardiac floor, so some one had to go up to obstetrics for me. For those of you who read Deenie, I have a whole new appreciation for her situation. I have two words: hospital underwear.
I had a roommate briefly, but she had to go back to ICU so I am again alone. I watch Casino this morning. Ahhh, memories of home...
I'm actually pretty impressed I only misspelled one word considering I misspelled a word in the intial invitation, too.
I hope to be home by tomorrow afternoon. I'll try to call/email as I am up to it.
Love all of you!
Kiara

I'm laughing out loud at the Deenie reference. You must be on the mend if you are channeling Judy Blume.

So glad you're home (as I'm sure you are, too ;-) )
Loved the Deenie reference as well! Honestly, when they handed me those 'belted' pads after the kids were born, my first thought was 'So this is what they were talking about it those Judy Blume books!' And my second thought was, 'Haven't the hospitals bought new pads since the 80's? Or are they on contract to keep the company in business after all these years?'
Good to see your sense of humor needs no mending, dear! Be well!

Love,
Jackie
